Collect driver name, truck number, trailer number and location
Confirm shipper/receiver name to be sure you are looking at the proper load
Thank driver for providing the update and advise them you are starting detention protocol
Advise driver to keep you updated on progress and once loaded/unloaded to obtain “in and out” times on the BOL
Call broker and notify them we have entered detention because 2 hours have passed. Advise them you will be calling them back once loading/unloading is complete in order to advise them of the total number of hours
